“The client-counselor relationship is the most important criterion for effectiveness.”

ABOUT ME
When I began learning about therapy, the first thing that stood out was this statement: “The client- counselor relationship is the most important criterion for effectiveness.” In my experience with Suicide Prevention, Substance Dependence, Transition Aged Youth in Foster care, and Individual & Family therapy I found the statement to be true.
EDUCATION
-

University of Southern California, Masters of Social Work

EXPERIENCE
In therapy, I aim to build positive rapport with clients using motivational interviewing skills including open and close ended questioning, empathetic listening, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. I have a proven ability to join with clients; moreover, I am recognized by colleagues for having a natural teaching style, ability to learn and adjust quickly, and astute contributions to team and treatment planning. I am a firm believer that the Real Therapy happens once you leave my office and use the tools discussed in therapy in your home, work, and recreation environments.
